Terms of Use
Effective 1 November 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Tornike Nizharadze, an individual developer in Pennsylvania, USA, who publishes Big Why (“we”, “us”). By using Big Why you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
1. Who can use Big Why
You must be 18 or older. Big Why is offered in the United States.
2. What Big Why is
Big Why is a personal assistant for living by your own values. It helps you write down what matters to you, your goals, and the people in your life, and reminds you of them. It is a self-help tool. It is not therapy, counseling, medical care, or mental health treatment, and it does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line.
Using Big Why creates no professional relationship of any kind. Its answers are written by AI and can be wrong; do not rely on them for decisions about your health, money or legal matters.
3. Not a crisis service
Big Why cannot help in an emergency. In the US, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call 911 in an emergency. See Safety.
4. Your account
Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
5. Using Big Why fairly
Do not use Big Why to break the law or harm anyone; to get around its limits or safety measures; to copy, reverse-engineer or resell it; to reach it with automated tools; or to enter other people’s personal information without a good reason.
6. Your content
What you say and write stays yours. You let us process it only to provide Big Why to you, as the Privacy Policy describes. You may use what the assistant writes for you however you like.
7. Subscriptions
- Big Why is free to set up, including the spoken interview at the start, and free to use for your page and one daily note. Big Why Plus adds conversations with the assistant and the other features listed in the app before you buy.
- Big Why Plus is sold through the Apple App Store, Yearly or Monthly, at the price shown in the app before you buy. Yearly may start with a free trial; the trial length is shown before you start it.
- The subscription renews automatically at the same price until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or the current period ends, in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions on your iPhone. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel it.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms.
- Voice conversations have fair-use limits, shown in the app as the time you have left.
8. Changes and ending
We may change Big Why or these terms. If a change to the terms matters, we will tell you in the app before it applies. You can stop using Big Why and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
9. Disclaimers
Big Why is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that what the assistant says is accurate.
10. Limit of liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for Big Why in the 12 months before it, or $50 if that is more.
11. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Big Why or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If Big Why fails to conform to any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims relating to Big Why, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, and intellectual property claims. You confirm you are not in a country under a US government embargo and are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies where these terms do not cover a point.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Chester County, Pennsylvania, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there.
